Inspired by the brand La Marie, this project explored feminine silhouettes, elegant draping, and romantic detailing through my own design perspective. I was drawn to the brand’s balance of softness and structure, especially the use of lace, chiffon, and flattering shapes that feel both refined and wearable. Their vacation-ready dresses and matching sets inspired me to create a collection that feels light, graceful, and expressive.
To make the concept my own, I incorporated details such as slits, asymmetrical elements, ruching, gathered tiers, and lace accents throughout the collection for cohesion. I focused on creating pieces that feel versatile enough for vacations, dinners, and special occasions while still maintaining a dreamy, elevated aesthetic.
This project also helped me better understand my own design identity. I noticed how naturally I gravitate toward shades of pink and romantic textures, while also realizing the importance of pushing beyond my comfort zone through new color palettes and silhouettes. Overall, the project strengthened my ability to translate inspiration into original designs while continuing to define my personal aesthetic.
