Camouflage in Bloom
Camouflage in Bloom is a woven textile collection inspired by transformation, nostalgia, and the quiet beauty found in nature. The concept draws from my childhood travels to Latin countries, where I was first surrounded by lush greenery, vibrant florals, and organic textures that continue to influence my design perspective today. Alongside these memories, floral motifs have remained a constant signature in my work - stemming from my childhood habit of wearing a pink flower headband every day as a symbol of confidence, creativity, and self-expression.
Chameleons serve as the central motif of the collection, representing change, adaptability, and personal growth. These symbolic forms are layered into the woven designs to reflect the idea of blending in while still blooming - embracing evolution without losing identity.
This collection explores color harmony, motif development, and texture through hand-designed patterns and woven structures. While the final samples evolved during the making process, the work captures an intentional balance between camouflage and visibility, softness and strength, memory and movement. Camouflage in Bloom reflects my ongoing interest in storytelling through textiles and using surface design as a means of personal narrative.
